Smile Education is thrilled to be recruiting for a passionate Music Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. As a valued member of the faculty, you’ll have the opportunity to spark curiosity and creativity in KS3 and KS4 students, inspiring them to explore music from a variety of cultures, genres, and time periods. Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and interactive lessons for KS3 and KS4 students, covering the music curriculum with a mix of theory and practical activities.
  • Encouraging student participation, creativity, and collaboration within the subject, building their skills and confidence in music.
  • Supporting students in developing their knowledge of different musical styles, instruments, and compositions.
  • Preparing students for assessments and performances, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborating with the school's staff to contribute to school-wide music programs and extracurricular activities, such as choirs and bands.
 
Key Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and relevant teaching experience in Music at the secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to create an inspiring classroom experience that motivates students to engage with music.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to helping each student reach their potential.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
