Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full time – 30 hours per week

Salary: Grade C – £20,903 - £23,541 (Pro Rata 39 weeks)

Location: Burnley

We are seeking to appoint a successful, highly motivated and dynamic candidate to join our school as SEN Specialist TA.

Pupils who attend school are polite, well behaved and show a passion for learning. The incoming candidate will be working with some of the most vulnerable in school and will be expected to be a patient, caring and dedicated practitioner.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Have significant and successful experience of working with SEMH and children with challenging behaviour in an educational and/or social care setting 
  • Be able to support teaching and learning in both a Mainstream and an Inclusion Centre setting
  • Be able to establish excellent relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Deliver intervention to a small group of pupils/individuals

The position is required to Support a year 7 pupil with Autism and ADHD. The role will include working with the pupil in both a classroom and a non-classroom setting. The candidate will be required to utilise active listening techniques and have an understanding of the nurturing principles and Psychoanalytical theory.
