Contract Type: Temporary role, Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 15:30.

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a thriving and inclusive primary school located in the heart of Poulton-le-Fylde. The school prides itself on providing a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. The Reception class is a place of discovery, creativity, and early learning, where children begin their educational journey with a strong foundation.

The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join the schools Reception class team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the communication and language development of the schools youngest learners, working closely with experienced teachers and specialist staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of speech, language, and communication skills in Reception pupils.
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups with children, using targeted interventions and activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging confidence and participation.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of creative and engaging activities that promote language development.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience or training in speech and language support, ideally within an educational setting.
  • Be patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young children’s development.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team and build strong relationships with children, staff, and families.
  • Be flexible, proactive, and creative in their approach to teaching and learning.
