September Start Speech & Language therapist

Protocol Education are seeking to find a qualified Speech and language therapist who is also registered with the HCPC. The role will be based in a SEN school in the Newham area for a full time post (Mon-Fri). September Start.
The school are looking to appoint a suitable, qualified, experienced, hard-working and passionate candidate. The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding on the duties of a speech and language therapist, as well experience working in a SEND school and a clear understanding of safeguarding.
The role will mainly involve coordinating the provision and overseeing academic progression for vulnerable students, whilst liaising with colleagues within the school. A school that prioritise all students increase academically and to rebuild positive confidence within themselves.
The Ideal candidate will need to have the skills and experience to identify the speech and communication difficulty or disorder, assess the cause and nature of the problem, for example, congenital problems (such as cleft palate) or acquired disorders, after a stroke or injury devise and deliver a suitable treatment programme.
Must have excellent communication and listening skills, to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds, motivate client users and gain their trust. Clients may be uncooperative because they're frightened, frustrated or disorientated by their situation/environment.
Patience is key, as progress may be slow - involving repetitive exercises to aid clients who have problems memorising, processing and retaining information.
Creativity and problem-solving skills are desired, to design programmes appropriate for different learning styles and communication issues.
• Post-Grad qualification in relevant Mental Health/Social welfare profession and demonstrated practice over a minimum of three years,
• Masters/Diploma level qualification within the psychology & UKCP registration
• Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered
