No

With September planning already underway, SEND and SEMH schools across East Sussex are beginning to secure educators and support staff for the new academic year.

We are currently looking to connect with individuals interested in working within specialist education settings supporting pupils with additional behavioural, emotional or learning needs.

Whether you're an experienced SEND educator or looking to move into the sector for the first time, there are a range of opportunities expected across both primary and secondary settings this September.

  • SEND and SEMH teaching roles
  • Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistant positions
  • 1:1 pupil support
  • Behaviour and engagement-focused support
  • Classroom and intervention roles
  • Long-term and permanent opportunities

Schools are keen to meet people who can bring:

  • Consistency and reliability
  • Calm, professional classroom presence
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Patience and emotional resilience
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people

Experience within SEND or SEMH is beneficial, but not essential. Many schools are open to candidates with transferable skills and the right attitude.

September recruitment moves quickly.

Applying early gives you:

  • Access to a wider range of opportunities
  • Time to complete vetting before the new academic year
  • The chance to find a setting that genuinely suits you
  • Greater flexibility around the types of roles available

  • Opportunities across East Sussex
  • September 2026 starts
  • Teaching roles paid to scale
  • TA / LSA roles paid at £92.60 per day
  • A child-only enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required

If you do not currently hold one, you will need to apply for one through us. Support is provided throughout the process, though the cost is covered by the applicant.
