SEN Teaching Assistant - Specialist School

Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Contract: Term Time Only
Are you motivated by helping children with complex needs reach their full potential? Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated specialist school in Dibden. You'll play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), physical disabilities, and various medical conditions.

Offer 1:1 and small-group support to pupils during lessons
Assist with communication systems such as PECS, Makaton, and sensory-based strategies
Work alongside teachers, therapists, and support staff to help deliver personalised education plans (IEPs)
Create a safe, nurturing, and positive learning space that supports emotional and academic development
Contribute to adapted learning tasks and therapeutic activities
Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN is highly beneficial
Willingness to take part in training for personal care, mobility, and physical support
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting complex needs
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team as well as independently
Competitive hourly rate of £13.75, paid weekly
Full-time, term-time role
Long-term placement with potential for a permanent contract
Access to regular CPD and specialist SEN training
Ongoing guidance from a dedicated consultant
