Are you a compassionate, patient and dedicated practitioner with a passion for helping every child thrive? Our welcoming primary school in Enfield is looking for an exceptional SEN Teaching Assistant to join our skilled inclusion team.
We are a mainstream school with a well-established provision for children with Special Educational Needs. We pride ourselves on creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is valued, understood and supported to reach their full potential.
What You’ll Do
- Work closely with non-verbal autistic pupils to support communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning
- Use sensory-based strategies and resources to meet high sensory needs and reduce barriers to learning
- Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups within the classroom and specialist provision
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO and external professionals to deliver personalised learning plans
- Build trusting, positive relationships with pupils and families
- Champion inclusion and help create a calm, structured, child-centred environment
What We’re Looking For- Experience working with autistic children or children with complex sensory needs
- A warm, patient and resilient approach
- An understanding of communication strategies (PECS, visuals, AAC—training can be provided)
- Someone creative, proactive and ready to tailor their approach to each child
- A genuine passion for supporting children who communicate and experience the world differently
