Job Title: SEN Primary Teacher

Location: London Borough of Lewisham

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: MPS or UPS with SEN Points


Currently recruiting either MPS or UPS SEN Primary Teacher to join a successful SEN school based in the London Borough of Lewisham. This permanent appointment is to start in January 2024.

The ideal  SEN Primary Teacher will have experience working with children who have ASD and Complex Needs, Behaviour Difficulties, and other SEN, preferably in either a SEN School / ASD School/ Primary mainstream School or Alternative Provision.  Class sizes are small, typically between 5 – 6 pupils per class. You will be supported by between 3-4 SEN Teaching Assistants.


  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of children with SEN; ie Autism, Complex Needs, Behaviour Difficulties
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to support children's learning, including visual aids, sensory resources, and ICT
  • Monitor and track children's progress, and provide regular feedback to parents and carers
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members, including teaching assistants, therapists, and SENCOs
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required as an SEN Primary Teacher
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with children who have ASD and Complex Needs, Behaviour Difficulties, and other SEN
  • Knowledge of different teaching strategies and resources for children with SEN
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members, parents, and external agencies
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Live in easy commutable distance to the London Borough of Lewisham
