Pay: £150-£170/day

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Class Teacher to join our supportive and inclusive Special Educational Needs (SEN) primary school in Farnborough. The school caters to a diverse range of special educational needs, with primary diagnoses autism and other learning difficulties. The successful candidate will have a pivotal role in providing high-quality education to children in our SEN class, ensuring that every child is given the tools and support needed to thrive and succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons tailored to the individual needs of students in the SEN class.
  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages engagement, participation, and achievement.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and other support staff to deliver effective teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Monitor, record, and report on students' progress, ensuring continuous development in both academic and personal areas.
  • Promote social and emotional development, encouraging positive behaviour and emotional resilience.
  • Liaise regularly with parents/carers to keep them informed about their child's progress and development.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students in your care.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds a recognised teaching qualification (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching children with special educational needs, particularly autism and other learning difficulties.
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of different teaching methods and strategies for SEN.
  • Is passionate about creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
  • Has strong communication skills and can collaborate effectively with parents, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Shows patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude towards students with a variety of learning needs.
  • Holds a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience working in a primary setting, with a focus on autism and learning difficulties, is desirable.
  • A flexible, creative, and proactive approach to teaching and learning.
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
