An inspirational, enthusiastic and committed teacher of Science is required to join an experienced team working together closely in a well-resourced, efficient department. This position is required for 12 months and is covering a Maternity of an existing member of staff. Given the school’s expansion, there may be possibility for a permanent role following the initial contract coming to an end. This would be an excellent opportunity for an NQT looking to start their career in a proactive and forward thinking school.
The outgoing Teacher is due to start Maternity at the October half term, however, if possible a start in September is desirable to give class continuity. If necessary a later start date could be considered.
Applications are invited from both experienced practitioners and those new to the profession. The department currently comprises of 5 full-time teachers and 4 part-time teachers. The Head of Department is supported by a KS3 co-ordinator and a KS4 coordinator.
The Science Department has a long tradition of academic excellence. The successful candidate is likely to have an interest in, and be able to make some contribution to, co-curricular activities.
