We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Youth Support Officer to work with young people with Autism. These pupils come from a range of backgrounds and may be cautious when forming new relationships, so your ability to build trust, mentor effectively, and communicate with sensitivity will be essential.
This position sits within an alternative education setting, offering tailored learning that supports pupils' personal, social, and vocational development. Lessons often take a practical, hands-on approach to help prepare students for life beyond school and to nurture their individual strengths, interests, and ambitions.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing valuable experience for a future career in education or youth work.
We welcome applicants with experience in areas such as sports, care, youth work, or any background involving support for young people. Training will be provided, and CPD opportunities are available through our CPD Academy.
Applicants will need (or be willing to obtain during registration):
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
Safeguarding Level 2 (Children & Vulnerable People)
Two references covering a 24-month period (or equivalent)
Apply by submitting your CV
Shortlisting within 48 working hours
Telephone call to discuss the role in more detail
Interview invitation if you wish to proceed
Pre-employment checks completed by our team ahead of your start date
