As a Secondary RE Teacher, you will teach KS3 and KS4 students how to think, discuss, and write about ethical and philosophical topics in a structured way.

Key responsibilities
Teach Religious Education across KS3 and KS4
Guide structured discussions and debates
Support extended written responses
Teach ethical and philosophical concepts clearly
Prepare students for GCSE exams
Maintain respectful classroom environments

The classroom environment
Discussion is structured and purposeful
Students listen and respond respectfully
Lessons are clear and organised
Behaviour is consistent

Skills and experience
Experience teaching RE or humanities
Strong communication skills
Ability to guide discussion effectively
Clear lesson structure

What success looks like
Students explain and justify opinions
Written work improves
Confident participation in lessons

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with Theology, Philosophy, or humanities backgrounds
