About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate to join our school as a Teaching Assistant. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands- on experience in academic teaching, enhance your professional development and contribute to the success of students in the field of psychology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of psychology lessons and assist students with their understanding of psychological concepts.
  • Provide one to one small group support to students who may require additional support, ensuring each students’ unique needs are met.
  • Help prepare and organise teaching materials, resources and classroom activities.
  • Assist with marking and providing feedback on students work, including coursework and assessments.
  • Promote student engagement, encouraging a positive classroom environment.
  • Support students with emotional and behavioural challenges, utilising your knowledge of psychology to implement appropriate strategies.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Psychology or a closely related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to student support.
  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide at least two professional employment references.
  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, volunteering, or mentoring) is desirable but not essential.
