Reading improves, writing develops, and confidence grows steadily.

As a Year 2 Teacher, you will support pupils in building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy while developing consistent classroom routines and behaviour.

Key responsibilities
Teach the Year 2 curriculum
Deliver phonics, reading, writing, and maths lessons
Support pupils preparing for end of KS1 assessments
Build clear classroom routines and expectations
Differentiate learning to support all pupils
Track progress and support those needing intervention
Communicate effectively with parents and staff

The classroom environment
Lessons are structured and predictable
Pupils understand expectations
Learning is calm and focused
Behaviour is consistent and well managed

Skills and experience
Experience in KS1 teaching
Strong phonics knowledge
Clear classroom management
Consistent teaching approach

What success looks like
Improved reading confidence
More structured writing
Better independence in learning
Stable and positive classroom environment

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with KS1 or early primary experience
