PRIMARY YEAR 2 TEACHER

Location: Aylesbury
Start: September 2026
Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919

Reading improves, writing develops, and confidence starts to show.

As a Year 2 Teacher, you will support pupils through a key stage where foundational skills are secured and independence begins to grow.

Key responsibilities
Teach the Year 2 curriculum across core subjects
Deliver structured phonics, literacy, and maths lessons
Build strong classroom routines
Support pupils preparing for assessments
Differentiate learning to meet all needs
Track progress and provide support
Communicate effectively with parents and staff

The classroom environment
Lessons are structured and predictable
Pupils feel supported and confident
Routines are clear
Behaviour is consistent

Skills and experience
Experience in KS2 teaching
Strong phonics knowledge
Clear classroom management
Patient and structured approach

What success looks like
Pupils read with greater confidence
Writing becomes more structured
Independence improves
Learning becomes consistent

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with KS2 experience
