HLTA Opportunity – North Sheffield

Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work in welcoming and supportive schools across North Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced education professionals looking for an immediate start or a position from September 2026.

We are looking for confident and adaptable HLTAs who can support teaching and learning, deliver interventions, and confidently lead classes when required.

The Role

As an HLTA, responsibilities may include:

• Supporting teaching and learning across the classroom environment
• Delivering targeted interventions to individuals and small groups
• Leading whole-class learning in the absence of the class teacher when required
• Supporting pupils’ academic, emotional, and social development
• Working collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
• Helping to maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
• Supporting behaviour management and safeguarding procedures

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants should have relevant HLTA experience or hold an HLTA qualification.

Successful candidates will ideally have:

• Experience working within a primary school setting
• Confidence supporting learning across different year groups
• Experience delivering interventions and leading small group sessions
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to supporting pupils
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
