Do you have experience as a play worker with special needs?

Are you living in Ealing, Harrow or Northolt and interested in working with children in schools?

Join an amazing team and outstanding special needs school as a special needs teaching assistant this September!

We currently have looking to appoint up to 8 special needs teaching assistants to start 1st September 2020 in a Special Needs primary school in Ealing. The positions are across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 classes in both the school's autism and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) departments.

The school are interested in play workers primarily with experience supporting children, autism, sensory needs and physical disabilities. There are currently positions available in Early Years, Reception, Year 1 and mixed age classes. Some children within the autism department will be non-verbal, have hearing or visual impairments, display challenging behaviours and need additional assistance with personal care. A majority of children within the PMLD department will be non-verbal, have severe sensory needs, be in wheelchairs and need support with moving and handling and personal care.

You will support children 1:1 and in small groups with play, individual learning programmes and therapy. Additionally, successful play workers will assist in observing, recording and reporting progress and creating resources to use in class. Due to associated challenging behaviours, play workers will need to be consistent, patient, understand boundaries and have effective de-escalation skills.

The school is located local to both Greenford and Sudbury Hill Station in Ealing, rated by Ofsted as Outstanding (2020, 2012 and 2009) and renowned for their specialist training provided to staff and creative approach to learning.
