A school in York wish to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic Pastoral Support Worker to join thier successful inclusion team. The role involves engaging and supporting children who are experiencing difficulties in learning due to social, emotional or behavioural difficulties.

The school have a dedicated team of staff who work closely together to provide excellent learning opportunities for all children. Throughout the school there is an ethos of high expectation, respect and a drive for children to be the best learners they can be. 

The appointment of a new pastoral support worker is important to the ongoing achievement of the school as the successful candidate will be key in removing barriers to education and enabling pupils to achieve for their full potential.

Essential Qualifications

  • GCSE passes (A to C equivalent) in English and Mathematics

Desirable Qualifications

  • Level 3 NVQ or equivalent related to Teaching and Learning.
  • Mental Health First Aid

Desirable Experience

  • Working in a school setting with individual pupils / pupil groups.
  • An understanding of SEN including ASD / ADHD etc
  • Supporting pupils with additional emotional/behavioural needs.
  • Experience delivering interventions that support positive behaviour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
