Position Type: Full-time, Ongoing (until end of academic year)


About the Role
Future Education is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the nursery team at a welcoming mainstream primary school in Thornton Heath. This is an exciting opportunity to support early years learning and development in a supportive, nurturing environment for the remainder of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities
As a HLTA in the nursery, you will:

  • Provide high-quality support to children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all learners.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering the EYFS curriculum, contributing to lesson planning and delivering activities that promote early literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, supporting children’s emotional, social, and academic growth.
  • Use your experience to manage small groups or whole-class activities when required.
  • Work alongside the SEN and inclusion team to ensure that individual needs are met, adapting resources and strategies as needed.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:

  • HLTA status or equivalent Level 4 qualification, with relevant experience in early years settings.
  • Proven experience in EYFS, particularly within a nursery or reception class.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and a genuine passion for early years education.
  • Ability to engage, inspire, and support young learners in achieving their developmental milestones.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
