A co-educational secondary school in the Stockport area of South Manchester is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join their SEN department. The successfully appointed Learning Support Assistant would ideally start with the school in September or October as students settle into the new academic year. The school are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who is experienced in supporting students as a Teaching Assistant, Learner Mentor or perhaps providing tuition previously. Any experience of supporting students with a variety of special educational needs, is highly desirable for this role.
The school require a Learning Support Assistant that is confident in working with students of all ages between 11 and 16 but primarily working with year 7 students who have just start secondary school. There will be the chance to support these year 7 students working with them in smaller groups within the classroom and also on a 1 to 1 basis outside of the usual class constraints.

The successful candidate will ideally have relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant in the past or something similar where there are transferable skills. This could be working with students that require behavioural assistance or providing intervention as all experience will be beneficial for this role.
