Full-time Learning Mentor role available in one of our client secondary schools in Bury

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a large secondary school in the Bury area, to appoint a full-time learning mentor to assist with additional support for identified students. Due to the challenges pupils and schools have faced this year, a number of students are struggling to keep up with their learning and are therefore needing additional support across a range of lessons.

Job outline

  • Full-time Learning Mentor
  • Supporting students aged 11-16, ranging in levels of learning ability.
  • Earn up to £350 per week, depending on experience
  • Monitoring pupils’ progress and reporting back to senior teachers.
  • Planning and delivering intervention sessions to aid pupils’ development.
  • Providing additional support for a small group of students in a variety of subjects such as English and Maths.
  • Supporting students with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyspraxia.
  • Working alongside the class teacher supporting students aged 11-16.

Previous experience with additional learning and behavioural needs is required for this role, or transferrable skills from a similar position.

Our client school is based in Bury and can be accessed via the M66 and A58 from surrounding areas for those who have their own transportation. For non-drivers, there are several forms of public transport with links to areas such as Rochdale, Prestwich and Radcliffe.
