We are looking for a dedicated SEN Classroom Support Assistant to join a supportive and dynamic team in Buckinghamshire, working with students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for helping students with special educational needs (SEN) achieve their potential in a secondary school setting. You will be an integral part of creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, providing tailored support to students with a range of additional needs.

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with special educational needs including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and complex needs

  • Assist with the delivery of tailored learning plans, ensuring activities are accessible and engaging for all students

  • Support students with academic, social, and emotional development, promoting self-confidence and independence

  • Implement strategies and behaviour management plans as directed by the SENCO and class teacher

  • Encourage a positive learning environment by applying school behaviour management policies

  • Assist in the use of specific learning resources, including assistive technology, communication aids, and sensory equipment

  • Work alongside teaching staff to track student progress and adapt support strategies accordingly

  • Contribute to the overall development of a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Experience working with SEN students (formal or informal)

  • A patient, adaptable, and empathetic approach to supporting students

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students in both individual and group settings

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

  • SEN-related qualifications (e.g., CACHE, NVQ, or similar) desirable but not essential

  • Flexibility to work with students across different needs and abilities

  • Previous experience in a secondary school setting is advantageous
