Computing and Interactive Media at this school prepares students to become digitally literate in a modern world. Their bespoke curriculum ensures students can competently, and responsibly, use IT at a suitable level for their education and future workplaces. The department are looking for an experienced Teacher who can bring their own skills and expertise to the school. Owing to internal movements the Academy would ideally look to appoint a Teacher with 2 years or more experience in their field.

All pupils participate in the subject at KS3 to underpin knowledge and promote online safety. they will access programmes such as Microsoft and Adobe to compliment a range of other curricular subjects in which they will need to complete work on their computer. A strong emphasis is also placed on real life context to allow pupils to understand the ever changing and developing world of IT.

Focus days are a large component of the schools timetabling to allow students to explore each subject further, particularly those not considered core subjects. This is to ensure students receive a well rounded education but also to help aid pupils to determine which subjects they will carry into KS4. 

Necessary requirements:

  • Previous experience Teaching IT/Computing/ICT Media
  • UK QTS or equivalent
  • KS3/4 curriculum knowledge
  • Relevant Undergraduate Degree
  • Hold high expectations of students behaviour and outcomes
  • Commitment to the school and department 

Desirable:

  • A track record for delivering strong results at GCSE
  • Willingness to reintroduce GSCE IT
