An Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ primary school in Blackburn is looking to appoint an intervention/ booster teacher to join their Key Stage 2 team from September 2020!
The role is part-time, Tuesday to Thursday (12:30 – 15:30).
With the current absence of pupils within school, the Head Teacher is keen to kickstart intervention sessions for their KS2 pupils earlier rather than later, with the aim of closing gaps and supporting pupils with learning they will have missed due to school closures. The Head Teacher is looking for a teacher with prior experience of delivering small group intervention sessions and good knowledge of the curriculum expectations for each year group within the key stage. Success stories and examples of how your practice has had a positive impact will be advantageous to your application. The successful candidate will work closely with Class Teachers to assess and plan for next steps, in line with the learning taking place in the classroom. Accordingly, communication and teamwork skills are of great importance, and therefore must be evident in your application.
In order to be considered for the role, you must hold QTS and be a fully qualified teacher.
The school endeavour to provide children with an education that allows and encourages them to achieve their true potential, and an atmosphere that enables children to feel happy, valued, safe and secure. Each child is treated as an individual, and skills and talents are recognised. High standards of behaviour and manners are encouraged in order to prepare their pupils for an ever-changing society. The successful candidate will share with the school their vision and will promote these values throughout their daily practice.
The school is smaller than average, with a high proportion of pupils eligible for free school meals. The proportion of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities is also above the national average.
The Head Teacher aims to shortlist and interview by 17th July 2020. Interviews may also be taken place over video conference call.
The deadline for applications is 10th July 2020.
