Rikama Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special educational needs (SEN) school in Greenwich. In this role, you will deliver pre planned lessons to a range of classes (aged 11-16), as well as support small groups and 1-to-1 sessions, delivering a differentiated curriculum tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH and behavioural difficulties. You will work alongside a supportive team to foster academic success while also helping students develop critical personal, social, and health education (PSHE) skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students with a range of learning and social needs in both small group settings and on a 1-to-1 basis.
• Deliver pre planned lessons to classes across the school.
• Adapt the curriculum to meet the individual educational needs of each student.
• Assist students in developing life skills and PSHE competencies, which are essential for their overall wellbeing.
• Build strong, positive relationships with students, their families, and school colleagues.
• Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to regular reviews of learning plans.

Key Requirements

• Experience working with children, particularly in a special needs or educational setting.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs, including SEMH needs.
• Strong communication skills, both with students and colleagues.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, showing flexibility and adaptability.
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students with diverse needs.
