Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Sidcup

An established primary school in Sidcup is looking to appoint a motivated and capable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from April on a fixed-term basis.
This role is ideal for an experienced teaching assistant ready to take the next step, or an established HLTA who enjoys leading learning and supporting pupils to reach their full potential.
About the Role
- You will confidently deliver pre-planned lessons, lead small group interventions and provide targeted support to pupils who require additional guidance.
- Maintain a positive learning environment and ensuring pupils remain engaged, challenged and supported.
- Covering whole classes in the absence of the teacher
- Delivering structured intervention programmes
- Supporting pupils with varying learning needs
- Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Contributing to pupil assessment and progress monitoring
The Ideal Candidate
Applicants should:
- Hold a recognised HLTA qualification (or demonstrate equivalent experience)
- Have proven experience within a primary school setting
- Possess GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or recognised equivalents
- Be confident managing behaviour and leading whole-class sessions
- Demonstrate flexibility, initiative and strong communication skills
A positive, professional attitude and a genuine commitment to pupil development are essential.
