We are looking for a dedicated, experienced, and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant primary school in Sheffield. As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting the teaching and learning process, working closely with class teachers to provide high-quality education for all pupils, especially those with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support teaching and learning within the classroom under the direction of the class teacher

• Deliver planned interventions to small groups and individuals, focusing on raising attainment and meeting the needs of diverse learners

• Take responsibility for planning, preparing, and evaluating learning activities for small groups

• Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and those who require additional support, ensuring that they can access the curriculum effectively

• Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher

• Assist in the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, including literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects

• Supervise and support children during playtimes, lunch breaks, and other school activities

• Actively contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

Essential Criteria:

• HLTA qualification (or equivalent)

• Experience working in a primary school setting, with a good understanding of the National Curriculum

• Strong knowledge and understanding of SEN, including strategies to support children with additional learning needs

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents

• A proactive, flexible, and hardworking attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in delivering interventions to support specific areas of the curriculum
