As a Graduate Special Needs Assistant, you will support children 1:1 or in small groups with learning activities, therapy and overall care. You will work collaboratively alongside therapists and specialist educators learning and experiencing new rewarding challenges each day. The school looking to appoint support children aged from 7 to 19 years old and a well known within the community for the additional provisions they provide for children across Hillingdon with special needs.

Graduate Special Needs Teaching Assistants are required for a September start on a full-time basis. It is a great opportunity in Uxbridge to gain invaluable experience and understanding of resources, therapies, care and approaches used to support children and young people with special needs.
All children within the school are diagnosed with a special need including autism, physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties, social difficulties and speech difficulties. Learning and therapies are delivered through short interactive and sensory activities with pupils learning in-class, outdoors and within the local community.
Due to the varying needs of pupils, successful graduate special needs teaching assistants will need to be open to working across age groups and potentially supporting with personal care. Having previous care experience is highly beneficial as some children may also need support with moving and handling.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
