As a Secondary Geography Teacher, your role is to help students understand the relationships between places, environments, and people across KS3 and KS4.

Key responsibilities
Teach Geography across KS3 and KS4
Deliver structured lessons on physical and human topics
Support map reading and data interpretation
Develop extended written responses
Prepare students for GCSE exams
Track progress and address gaps
Maintain consistent classroom routines

The classroom environment
Lessons are well organised and clearly sequenced
Students understand how topics connect
Discussion is controlled and purposeful
Behaviour is calm and consistent

Skills and experience
Experience teaching Geography or strong subject knowledge
Ability to explain concepts clearly
Strong organisation and planning
Confident classroom management

What success looks like
Students explain ideas clearly
Written responses improve
Confidence increases across ability levels

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with Geography or environmental backgrounds
