In Food Tech, preparation is everything.

As a Secondary Food Technology Teacher, you will teach KS3 and KS4 students how to plan, prepare, and produce food safely and effectively within a structured learning environment.

Key responsibilities
Teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4
Plan practical and theory lessons
Teach food preparation and safety standards
Manage equipment, materials, and classroom organisation
Support GCSE coursework
Ensure a safe and controlled learning environment
Monitor progress and provide feedback

The classroom environment
Lessons are organised and calm
Students follow clear routines
Workspaces are controlled and safe
Learning is practical but structured

Skills and experience
Experience teaching Food Tech or strong practical background
Strong organisation skills
Ability to manage practical lessons
Clear communication

What success looks like
Students complete practical tasks successfully
Work improves over time
Lessons run smoothly without disruption

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with catering, food, or hospitality experience
