If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) provision in Darwen!

About the Role:

As a Food Technology Teacher in our SEMH provision, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEMH requirements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, independence, and practical skills.
  • Support students in developing both culinary skills and an understanding of healthy living and nutrition.
  • Use a range of strategies to manage behavior effectively and build strong, supportive relationships with students.
  • Work closely with a team of professionals to create individualized learning plans and monitor student progress.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified Food Technology Teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent certification.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs or in a similar alternative provision setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students with diverse learning needs.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Passion for teaching and inspiring young people to develop life skills through Food Technology.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
