“Our lovely Secondary School based in the town of Basingstoke seeks a Teacher of Food Technology. This role is an open vacancy in the Design & Technology Department, where the subject is popular, which has resulted in an additional food technology teacher. The School is a wonderful place to work where Students actively engage with their learning. This Schools alignment with its values of respect and courage, and in its approach to its mixed 11-16 cohort, make it a diverse and rewarding place to work.

The Design and Technology Department at the School teach all specialisms, and now seek a practitioner able to deliver Food Technology. The subject is taught at KS3 and 4 at the School and enjoys excellent uptake post-KS3. The Department enjoys excellent resources and teaches in modern classrooms; as such Teachers are well-equipped for the job in hand. Results are strong year on year, and the School was recently found to be ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

The successful candidate will join an experienced team, able to support their colleagues' development and subsequent results. Regular training and CPD is offered at the School, and there is opportunity to bring creativity to the role as the School grows and its needs develop.

This position is suitable for teachers of all experience levels including newly qualified teachers, and a mentor will be available for those looking to complete their NQT year here. This position is also open and available to teachers trained in further education cooking courses such as catering who are able to utilise their transferable skills.
