Quantum Scholars are working on behalf of an "Outstanding" secondary school in South West London that is seeking to appoint an inspiring and passionate Food Technology Teacher to join their successful team on a permanent, part-time basis from September 2026. You will be required to work 3 days per week.

This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic Food Technology teacher who is confident delivering engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will play a key role in inspiring students to develop their knowledge of nutrition, cooking skills, and food science within a vibrant and well-resourced department.



The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching Food Technology or Food Preparation & Nutrition at KS3 and KS4
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for food education
  • Be confident delivering both practical and theoretical lessons in a safe and engaging environment
  • Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Be committed to supporting students of all abilities to achieve their full potential
  • Have a proactive and collaborative approach to working within a wider school community


Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach a range of topics including nutrition, food science, healthy eating, and practical cookery skills
  • Ensure safe use of kitchen equipment and adherence to health and safety standards at all times
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment
  • Support students' academic development and practical skill-building
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards across the department
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities where appropriate
  • Uphold the school's values, policies, and commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
