Teaching Personnel

East Sussex

Temporary | Full Time

15/05/2026

No

SEND and SEMH schools across East Sussex regularly require flexible staff to support with short-notice absences, day-to-day cover and additional classroom support.

This is ideal for people looking for flexible education work that can fit around other commitments or lifestyles.

A lot of this work comes through on the day, meaning:

  • Calls between 7:30am – 8:00am
  • Same-day placements
  • Different schools and classroom environments
  • Flexible working patterns week to week

If you need guaranteed hours every week, this role may not be the best fit.

If you value flexibility and variety, it can work very well.

  • Teaching Assistant and Learning Support cover
  • 1:1 pupil support
  • Behaviour and engagement support
  • Day-to-day teaching cover
  • General SEND classroom support

Across both primary and secondary settings.

This role tends to suit individuals who:

  • Are adaptable and reliable
  • Can remain calm under pressure
  • Are confident entering new environments
  • Have experience working with children or young people
  • Are interested in SEND or SEMH education

Access to a car is a major advantage due to the nature of day-to-day work, though not essential.

  • Teaching roles paid to scale
  • TA / LSA roles paid at £92.60 per day
  • Flexible opportunities across East Sussex
  • Immediate and September opportunities available

A child-only enhanced DBS on the Update Service is required.

If you do not currently hold one, you will need to apply for one through us. Support is provided throughout the process, though the cost is covered by the applicant.
