I am currently working on behalf of a small primary school in Leyland to recruit and appoint an Early Years Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with a child in EYFS with Speech and Language difficulties. The school have recently received an EHCP for the child, which is the reason for the role arising. The successful candidate will be required to start 3rd January 2023 on a PAYE contract through Teaching Personnel; however, the Head Teacher is looking to offer a permanent school contract from September 2023.

The school is an Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ faith primary school situated in an idyllic rural location. It boasts an excellent outdoor area, with a Forest School on site. There are two experienced Class Teachers who work in the EYFS class, as well as two other Teaching Assistants. The successful candidate will be well supported by a friendly and approachable Head Teacher, who sees her students’ and staff members’ mental wellbeing as a key priority.

The Head Teacher is looking for a teaching assistant with a minimum of a Level 2 qualification specific to Early Years or Primary Education, as well as a strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the 7 areas of learning. Experience of supporting pupils with Speech and Language difficulties is desirable.

Working one-to-one, you will be expected to:

-          Liaise closely with the Class Teachers, School SENCo, Speech and Language Therapist and parents

-          Support the pupil in working towards and achieving their individualised targets

-          Encouraging the child’s engagement in the continuous provision and building relationships with their peers
