Quantum Scholars are working closely with a specialist Pupil Referral Unit in Wokingham who are seeking an experienced and passionate EOTAS Maths Tutor to support young people currently outside of mainstream education.



This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work with pupils who require additional support to re-engage with learning, rebuild confidence, and achieve positive educational outcomes.

You will be supporting students with a range of additional needs including SEND and SEMH, with pupils who may present with:

  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Anxiety
  • EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance)
  • Medical needs

The Role

As an EOTAS Maths Tutor, you will deliver tailored Maths support to pupils in alternative education settings, adapting learning approaches to meet individual needs and helping students reconnect positively with education.

This role offers the opportunity to genuinely impact a young person's educational journey by providing consistency, encouragement, and personalised support.



Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths tuition tailored to individual learning needs
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Support students with SEND/SEMH needs in overcoming barriers to learning
  • Plan and adapt lessons to suit varying abilities and learning styles
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback where required
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing through learning
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment


Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Tutor, Teacher, or EOTAS Practitioner
  • Strong knowledge of Maths curriculum and teaching methods
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs
  • Ability to build rapport with vulnerable young people
  • Patient, adaptable, and resilient approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport is desirable
  • Must have a full Right to Work in the UK.
