An exciting opportunity has become available at a welcoming and supportive English department with a recent track record of improvement.

  • Full-time English Graduate required from November 2021.
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis who require extra literacy focus to raise their attainment.
  • Earn up to £1400 per month, dependent on experience.
  • Based within a secondary school in Bury.

Roles and responsibilities involved:

  • Working alongside class teachers supporting students aged 11-16.
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning and SEN.
  • Expected to incorporate inventions to aid the student’s learning and behaviour with the hopes of raising their progress and attainment.
  • Assisting students on a 1:1 basis when they are withdrawn from English lessons to attend literacy intervention sessions.

To be considered for this English Graduate role it is required that you have experience of working with children or young people previously. You must also have a degree within English or a transferrable subject. It is also important to have experience supporting pupils who have SEN.

The school is based close by to the centre of Bury and can be easily accessed via the M60 and A56 from surrounding areas. Being close by to the town centre, the school can also be accessed via several forms of public transport from neighbouring areas such as Radcliffe, Bolton, and Rochdale.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
