Recruiting on behalf of a partner Further Education College

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a leading Further Education college in Northamptonshire to recruit an experienced and motivated Electrical / Construction Trainer-Assessor.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing, inclusive college with recognised strengths across vocational and technical provision, including engineering, construction, health and social care, creative industries, catering and digital. The college prides itself on delivering high-quality education and training to apprentices and students from a wide range of backgrounds.

As a Trainer-Assessor, you will play a key role in supporting apprentices and students to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to succeed in the electrical and/or construction industries.

No two days will be the same. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering training and assessment to apprentices/students in the workplace and/or college environment

  • Monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback

  • Supporting learners to achieve qualifications within agreed timescales

  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with awarding body requirements

  • Building strong relationships with employers and stakeholders

  • Managing and prioritising a varied caseload effectively

You will be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, working within a culture that values inclusion, innovation and high standards.

We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and active listening

  • The ability to engage effectively with apprentices, colleagues and external stakeholders

  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • High levels of attention to detail and accuracy

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • A professional, responsive approach to customer service

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above

  • A relevant industry qualification at least one level above the level being assessed (to be discussed at shortlisting stage)

An assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA/CAVA) is desirable but not essential for the right candidate, as development may be supported.

Working within this supportive college environment, you will benefit from:

  • Generous holiday entitlement
