As a Design Technology Teacher, you will teach KS3 and KS4 students how to design, create, and evaluate work within a structured and practical environment.

Key responsibilities
Teach DT across KS3 and KS4
Guide students through design and build processes
Support practical work and safe tool use
Prepare students for GCSE coursework
Maintain organised workshop environments
Ensure health and safety standards are followed
Track progress and provide feedback

The classroom environment
Lessons are structured and organised
Students follow clear instructions
Practical work is controlled and safe
Behaviour is consistent

Skills and experience
Experience teaching DT or strong practical background
Confidence managing practical lessons
Strong organisation skills
Clear communication

What success looks like
Students complete projects successfully
Work improves over time
Lessons run smoothly and productively

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with engineering, design, or construction backgrounds
