Location: Aylesbury
Start: September 2026
Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919

Good design always starts before anything is made.

As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will teach KS3 and KS4 students how to plan, create, and improve their work through structured lessons and clear expectations.

Key responsibilities
Teach Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4
Guide students through design, make, and evaluate processes
Support practical work and safe equipment use
Prepare students for GCSE coursework
Maintain an organised and structured workshop
Ensure health and safety procedures are followed
Track student progress and development

The classroom environment
Lessons are organised and well prepared
Students follow clear instructions
Work is completed safely and efficiently
Behaviour is consistent and controlled

Skills and experience
Experience teaching DT or strong practical background
Confidence managing practical lessons
Organisation and planning skills
Clear communication

What success looks like
Students improve their work over time
Projects are completed to a high standard
Lessons feel productive and focused

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with industry or technical experience
