Classroom behaviour support
A secondary specialist provision in the Skelmersdale area is looking to hire x5 classroom behaviour support assistants. The roles are to start ASAP or in September. The SLT of the school are eager to meet candidates and offer them a trial day to decide if they are suited for the role before the end of this academic year. As a secondary classroom behaviour support assistant, your role is to ensure positive behaviour management, model correct behaviours and communication to ensure the pupils are able form trusting and respectful relationships with you by following from example.
The pupils in the schools are all easily influenced and require additional support particularly in their communication and behaviour towards each other- each pupil will have an EHC Plan, and this will need to be adhered to by each member of staff. The pupils are provided with specialist intervention sessions to further their development in all areas. Some pupils may require 1:1 support or support in a small group environment- their class sizes are small being 8-10 per class however for some pupils this may be too overwhelming.
The roles are all full-time Monday- Friday 8:30am -3:30pm (term time only), due to the needs of the pupil’s consistency is key, so the school do require commitment from their staff that they will be available every day. No school experience is required but can be desirable- due to the nature of the role having a background of care/ support worker, nurse, pastoral, or SENCO roles will all be suitable for these roles.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
