Part-Time Biology Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Blackburn, Lancashire

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Biology teacher to join a highly regarded independent school in Blackburn on a part-time, fixed-term basis to cover a maternity leave.

The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Biology teacher to deliver high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the school’s strong academic standards and fostering a love of science in students across a range of abilities.

This part-time position will involve teaching on:
Mondays – Full day
Thursdays – Full day
Tuesdays – Half day

The role is due to commence on 22nd April 2024 and will continue for the duration of the maternity leave.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

✔ Be a qualified teacher (QTS) with a strong background in Biology
✔ Have experience teaching Biology at Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience desirable but not essential)
✔ Be an enthusiastic and innovative educator, committed to delivering engaging and high-quality lessons
✔ Have excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to student progress
