The Role - Behaviour Support Assistant
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you must be resilient and have strong behaviour management skills, ideally you will have experience working with male children from 4-13 years. Students may come from vulnerable backgrounds and display social, emotional and mental health difficulties through challenging behaviours so understanding of and managements of these behaviours are key to this role.
This specialist SEMH School is found in North London in the London Borough of Islington and caters to students between the ages of 4- 11 years. Most of their pupils suffer with social, emotional, behaviour and mental health difficulties and due to the nature of this they are looking for someone who has transferrable skills and has worked with these types of students. They take pride in the development of their young people and the continuous professional development of their staff also.
The ideal candidate should:
- Have experience working with students with SEMH
- Have school based experience
- Have good behaviour management skills
- Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
