We’re seeking a committed Behaviour Mentor to work in a specialist SEMH school in Horsham, supporting male pupils aged 7–16 who present with challenging behaviours linked to trauma, anxiety, and social-emotional needs. You’ll be a key adult in helping students regulate their emotions and re-engage with education in a safe, structured setting.
Your Role:
Providing consistent 1:1 support and acting as a positive male role model
Managing behavioural incidents and supporting emotional regulation
Delivering tailored interventions focused on anger management, self-esteem, and social skills
Collaborating closely with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral leads
Ideal Candidate:
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, PRU, youth work or residential care settings
Calm, assertive and able to build trust with vulnerable young people
Confident managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation strategies
A passion for helping pupils develop self-worth and confidence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
