We are currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Behaviour Mentor Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Stoke. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students with emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and succeed academically. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioural and emotional difficulties.
  • Implementing strategies to improve students' social and emotional well-being, including conflict resolution and self-regulation techniques.
  • Supporting classroom teachers in managing behaviour and creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitoring and recording students' progress and reporting concerns to the relevant staff.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting the school’s values.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A passion for working with young people and supporting their development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a similar role, such as a Behavioural Support Worker or Teaching Assistant, is preferred but not essential.
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach to dealing with challenging behaviours.
  • A commitment to promoting the mental health and well-being of students.

The role is full-time with a competitive daily rate of £85-£100, depending on experience. This is an ideal position for those looking to develop their career in education and behaviour support. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
