Autism Support Worker needed for a school in Harrogate.
The school caters for children with Autism, MLD and PMLD and provides an adapted school environment which allows their pupils to thrive. It follows their own curriculum depending upon the individual needs of each pupil and class meaning the school can tailor their approach to the needs of each pupil.
Many children who attend school may struggle with their speech, language and communication therefore, the school require a support worker who is patient and nurturing to help build the children's confidence.
Duties will include:
• Supporting pupils with Autism throughout the school day
• Helping with sensory play
• Supporting pupils to self regulate their emotions
• Encourage pupils to take part in each activity
• Allow children to be in a safe space in which they can express themselves
• Build strong, professional relationships
• Build the pupils confidence
• Help communication
Key Competencies of the Autism Support Worker:
This role starts immeditely and is due to be for the full term. This is a full-time role. Experience is desired but not essential. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
