Autism Support Assistant
A mainstream primary school in Blackburn are hoping to recruit a full-time 1:1 SEN Support Assistant; to work with a pupil in Year 3 with Autism. The role is set to start from Monday 8th March 2021 on an ongoing basis, the child you will be supporting will be in Year 3. The pupil is working towards age related expectation and requires additional support with their concentration/ staying focused during subject learning as well as behaviour management throughout the school day. The pupil often requires to work in a quiet area outside of the classroom, this provision was in place for the Autumn term and the Head Teacher would like to find an individual who is able to provide the appropiate level of support, this individual will need to be patient and have a nuturing approach. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children with Autism and challenging behaviour, and experience holding interventions and de-escalating difficult situations.

The role is to start on Monday 8th March 2021 on a full-time basis. The Head Teacher aims to shortlist and interview as soon as possible. Interviews may be taken place over a video conference call. Rates of pay are competitive starting at £10.00 - £11.50 per hour paid into your bank account on a weekly basis.
