Are you passionate about supporting the growth and development of children with Special Educational Needs, including Autism and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)? Teaching Personnel, in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Salford, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Assistant to join our expert team. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with complex learning needs, working within a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

Your Role in SEN Education:

As an SEN Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students. Your dedication, empathy, and commitment will be essential in creating an adaptive and supportive learning environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Tailored Support: Assist in delivering individualised support through one-on-one and small group sessions, designed to meet the unique needs of students with Autism and PMLD.
  • Positive Behaviour Support: Help implement positive behaviour strategies that promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere, enabling all students to reach their full potential.
  • Assisting with Personal Care: Provide support with personal care needs, ensuring the dignity and comfort of each student at all times.
  • Support with Progress Monitoring: Aid in conducting observations and assessments, contributing to tracking student progress and providing valuable feedback to the wider team, including parents and carers.

About You:

  • Specialist Experience: Experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable. Familiarity with sensory-based approaches, communication aids, and assistive technology will be an advantage.
  • Key Attributes: You are patient, empathetic, and deeply committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with SEN. You embrace and promote inclusive practices and are dedicated to creating a positive learning environment.
