LSA role to begin May 17th and September 2021 starts the school want to build round people who have a holistic and restorative approach, empathetic people who want to understand the traumas the boys have been through.

Can you demonstrate the value of an education to these boys? Can you deliver key and personal skills to them?

This is a Learning Support Assistant role that will put you into challenging, sometimes Anti-Social contexts that will build your foundations of experience. With this LSA role starting after, de-escalation and the language around it is incredibly important! This is a specialist school where empathy and pragmatism are key. If you are an aspiring Criminal Justice Officer or Probation Officer, this LSA role will give you pragmatic experience of working with vulnerable students who have been through severe traumas.

Restorative Practice, pragmatism and positive reinforcement will be key skills in this LSA role in Woking. The role specialises in working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues and Wellness concerns. The boys you are raising attainment with are between the ages of 9-16, all have EHCPs and will need to continue their education once they leave the school.

Behaviour is only one aspect of this role, it is imperative that you have the academic skill to be able to raise academic attainment across a number of areas. Computing, Hairdressing, PE and the Performative Arts are all incredibly important here, there is a real holistic approach and feeling within this brand new SEMH School in Surrey.

The LSA role will give you experience in safeguarding and assessment of what rehabilitation students require to be empowered back into mainstream education. It is important to understand, where the boys come from, their struggles at home, their own objectives and diverse cultures.

This practical placement will enable you to qualify and disqualify areas of Psychology, Youth, Social and Criminal Justice that are right for you. This LSA role is not for everyone; you must be sincere about your objectives and know why you want to work with children and young adults who have been through severe traumas.
