As a Secondary Art Teacher, you will guide KS3 and KS4 students through a process of developing ideas, refining techniques, and producing work that shows clear progress over time.

Key responsibilities
Teach Art across KS3 and KS4
Develop drawing, painting, and design techniques
Support GCSE coursework and portfolio development
Provide structured feedback on student work
Maintain organised use of materials and equipment
Ensure lessons run efficiently and safely

The classroom environment
Lessons are structured but allow creativity
Students understand expectations
Work improves gradually over time
Behaviour is calm and purposeful

Skills and experience
Experience teaching Art or strong creative background
Ability to manage practical lessons
Strong organisation and planning
Clear communication

What success looks like
Visible progress in student work
Improved confidence in creative tasks
Structured and consistent lessons

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with art, design, or creative industry backgrounds
